What are routine property inspections all about?
Tuesday 3 March 2020
For a start, most insurance companies require that inspections are completed around every three months, as part of the policy. If there is a claim made, they often request copies of the inspection reports.
For us, it’s all about making sure that the tenants are keeping to their obligations. We ensure they are staying on top of the property’s cleanliness and maintaining grounds to an acceptable level.
They are also useful to notify the owners of any possible maintenance that needs to be carried out, either now or in the future for planning. Occasionally we uncover spills or damage the tenant has not reported and deal with these items at the time rather than when a tenancy finishes and things can become complicated.
We have an extensive checklist and guidelines to follow and take snapshots so the property owner can see how things are looking.
Currently, we are including Healthy Homes information to help identify future upgrades for our owners to prepare and budget for. Once we have typed up the reports, we call or email our client owners to discuss our findings. For more information on this or any other aspect of our services, get in touch here today.
