TS Talisman Sea Cadets Fiji Voyage

Summit was delighted to be able to help out the TS Talisman Sea Cadets with a sponsorship donation as they took on the trip from New Zealand to Fiji this year.
The Sea Cadets from Nelson, New Zealand partnered with Dr. Xavier Pochin of the Cawthron Institute to become Planktonauts, collecting plankton between New Zealand and Fiji using a special sampling kit. This voyage was crucial in helping the teenagers in their discovery of who they are in society, and in the world.
The Sea Cadets from Nelson sailed a 20-metre yacht from New Zealand to Fiji, a voyage of almost 1800 nautical miles.
They planned all aspects of the voyage and stood watches under the supervision of an experienced Skipper and Mate.
